Herndon, Va. (April 16, 2018) Northwest Federal Credit Union recently sponsored the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-mile Run, benefitting the children treated at Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals. Proceeds from the annual race are donated through the Credit Union Miracle Day charity, which brings together credit union organizations throughout the United States to support the 170 CMN hospitals.

“We were excited to once again sponsor and participate in the annual Cherry Blossom Ten-mile run,” said Northwest Federal’s President and CEO, Jeff Bentley. “Our employees look forward to running and marshaling the course each year, and we are pleased to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as part of our community outreach efforts.”

One hundred and forty employees, family members and friends of Northwest Federal volunteered to marshal the course and participate in the run. The sponsorship and $5,000 donation is part of the credit union’s “Transforming Lives Through Acts of We” outreach program.

In addition, prior to the race, employees from Northwest Federal visited Children's National Medical Center in DC and donated to Dr. Bear's Closet providing toys and activities for patients and their family members.
