Recently, credit unions in Bismarck, ND received a request from the Fargo based Sanford Children’s Hospital. They were holding their annual Hours of Hope Radiothon in Bismarck, and were having some trouble getting enough volunteers to man the phones. After reaching out to several Bismarck based credit unions, six Railway Credit Union employees and six First Community CU employees responded immediately, filling nearly all of the remaining volunteer time slots.

The event was held at the iHeart Radio Station in downtown Bismarck on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23. Volunteer coordinator Emily McDaniel from Sanford Health Foundation said, “We are thrilled to have credit unions with us for volunteer shifts – they have provided us with tremendous coverage for our event. We are so appreciative of your continuous support of Children's Miracle Network and Sanford Children's.” The Radiothon in Bismarck lasted two days, ran a total of 24 hours with five different DJs, and with the help of volunteers, raised $21,370 for Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo.
