Affinity Plus FCU "Year in Review" Shows 4,000 Hours of Volunteer Work
March 23, 2018
ST. PAUL, MINN. (March 22, 2018) – This week Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union hosted its 88th Annual Meeting of the Membership at its St. Paul headquarters. The Board of Directors, employees and members celebrated a successful 2017 and looked ahead at 2018 – a year of investment by the credit union to improve systems and infrastructure.
Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President/CEO, provided attendees with a “year in review,” which highlighted various business accomplishments and initiatives; provided a financial summary; and showcased the tremendous improvement and health of Affinity Plus over the past four years.
“We've worked incredibly hard to restore the financial footing of this credit union over the past four years, and it has put Affinity Plus in a position to be able to invest in new systems and improve our technology infrastructure,” Larson said.
Those investments, he said, include changes to Affinity Plus’ online and mobile banking system, member rewards program and its core processing system.
“Simply put, we are implementing more sophisticated technology to better meet member needs,” Larson added. “And by ‘we,’ I mean the employees. They continue to amaze me in their belief in what we are doing, as well as their dedication to make Affinity Plus a better credit union for the members and one other.”
'STORYTELLING THROUGH THE NUMBERS'
Larson highlighted a variety of 2017 initiatives and accomplishments:
-
188,000 - As of the end of 2017, Affinity Plus had 29 branch offices and three call centers located in communities across Minnesota, serving more than 188,000 members.
-
Four - Affinity Plus opened four new or remodeled branches in 2017 – Cambridge, New Hope, Mankato and on the St. Cloud State University campus.
-
$2 billion = The credit union ended the year in in a strong position with total assets at $2.064 billion, first crossing over the $2 billion milestone in March.
-
100 percent - In the 2017 Employee Engagement survey, 100 percent of respondents said, “I have a good understanding of the mission and vision of our organization.” And 99 percent said, “I am proud to work for Affinity Plus.”
-
8,011,124 - The Affinity Plus mobile banking app had 8,011,124 member logins during 2017, with a new mobile banking experience to launch in April 2018.

At the Annual Meeting, three directors were elected to three-year terms: Robyn Cousin; Ron Rollins; and Karen Snorek.
In addition, the Board of Directors named its table officers for the coming year, including Lori Trygg as Chair; Rollins as Vice Chair; Karen Foreman as Secretary; and David Johnson as Treasurer.
“Overall, I could not be more pleased with the credit union and the direction that we’re headed,” Larson said. “As we look out to 2019, 2020 and beyond, the future is bright for Affinity Plus.”
