Falcon Heights, MN - SPIRE Credit Union held its 84th Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Day on February 17 with the theme, “Let us inspire you.” Based on the response by the record audience, SPIRE did just that.

A record-setting audience of over 4,400 attendees overfilled the main auditorium of Grace Church’s Eden Prairie Campus and were treated to an opening performance by Circus Juventas – a non-profit performing arts circus school that provides, “ordinary children with extraordinary opportunities.”

The event also broke giving records for SPIRE.  The meeting benefited Second Harvest Heartland as attendees donated enough food and funds to provide nearly 1,500 meals to Minnesota families in need.  Attendees also had the opportunity to purchase candy bars as part of the SPIRE Give Back Team’s yearlong initiative to raise funds for Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul.  As candy bars sold out, attendees of the meeting raised over $500 for healthcare organization.

During the business meeting, SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz shared how SPIRE has had a record-breaking gold medal year. SPIRE experienced steady loan and member growth, asset growth five times higher than the national average and was awarded several regional and national recognitions.  SPIRE Board Chair Tom Heinzen provided an economic status report of the credit union where he stated, “As SPIRE nears $1 billion in assets, I along with the Board of Directors, look earnestly to 2018.”

The event ended with a special video thanking SPIRE members, partners and supporters for making SPIRE Credit Union what it is today.  Each person attending received $25.

Reflecting on the event, Stoltz stated, “This year’s meeting was the best ever.  Hearing from so many people how they appreciate the investment of time and treasure SPIRE puts back into our communities, makes me so proud of SPIRE and our staff who work every day to improve the lives of our members.”
