NWFCU Foundations Weekend Meals Drive Benefits WUSA9 Partnership
March 1, 2018
The NWFCU Foundation recently partnered with Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, PC to make the first donation from their Weekend Meals Drive. The drive collects non-perishable food to be donated to local school programs that ensure students who rely on free and reduced-price school meals have food over the weekend.
“The NWFCU Foundation looks for ways to support local youth, and we know children cannot learn and succeed when they’re hungry,” said Executive Director of the NWFCU Foundation, Alexzandra Shade. “We hope our second annual Weekend Meals Drive will make a difference in the lives of local students who struggle with food insecurity.”
The $500 donation from the NWFCU Foundation, along with coolers filled with $500 worth of food from Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, PC, was donated to Veronica Scarborough, secretary at Waldon Woods Elementary in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Scarborough delivers meals daily to students in her area who are in need of supplemental food. Her recent partnership with WUSA9 caught the attention of the Foundation and prompted the donation.
“Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, P.C. is proud to support members of our community who put others first. The work Ms. Scarborough does is commendable, and goes above and beyond,” said Marketing Executive at Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, P.C., Kim Greer.
The Weekend Meals Drive continues through the end of March.
Donations can be dropped off at any Northwest Federal branch location.
