Voyage FCU Employees Volunteer at Feeding South Dakota

Sioux Falls, SD - Over Valentine’s Day week, over half the staff from Voyage FCU volunteered to sort food for Feeding South Dakota. Between the two groups that volunteered, they went through 14,679 pounds of food which is the equivalent of 12,232 individual meals! The task was to separate donated food into boxes designated for items ranging from “Rice & Beans” to “Canned Fruit & Veggies”.
Amber Aker, a financial service specialist at Voyage stated that, “It was really nice to get out of the office and work with employees from other branches.” Aker, who is also a member of the credit union’s community committee, went onto say that, “It really makes you feel good to give back, but if you are breaking a sweat it just amplifies it!”
