Southern Mass CU Donates $700 to Caring Network Program

Southern Mass Credit Union (SMCU), Fairhaven, Mass., recently donated $700 to support the Caring Network (CN) program, a division of the Child & Family Services, Inc. of New Bedford, Mass. Employees organized a 'Buck-A-Book' sale, selling new and lightly used books to credit union members, and donated the proceeds to an organization of their choosing. Employees chose the Caring Network for their work with children.
"A special thank you to Southern Mass Credit Union staff and members who participated in the book drive," stated Larissa Correia, CN Program Director. "We're so grateful for this donation, as it will help us give the children we work with their own coping tools to take home - such as Play-doh, calming bottles, and coloring materials."
