Black Hills FCU Donated $4,640 to Non-Profits in December

Rapid City, S.D. (01/12/18) – As part of their mission to Improve Lives, Black Hills Federal Credit Union’s employees were involved with numerous fundraisers and volunteer efforts in their communities this December. In total, they donated more than $4,640 to non-profits across South Dakota.
Employees and members raised $1,100 for Operation Black Hills Cabins in Custer and donated $1,300 to the Autism Society of the Black Hills. Additionally, staff volunteered and donated $500 in employee raised funds to Sioux Falls Cares and presented the Oahe YMCA in Pierre with a $500 donation.
“BHFCU’s employees truly care about our members and the communities we serve,” said Chris McConnell, BHFCU’s Pierre Member Service Center Manager. “We’re grateful for the amazing work these organizations are doing to improve lives, and we’re proud to be able to support their efforts.”
Employees also collected and donated 58 holiday gifts for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, participated in the 2nd Annual Black Hills Mannequin Challenge for Charity, presented Western South Dakota Senior Services’ MEALS Program with a $500 donation, and donated $250 to the Lakota Voice Project. This January, BHFCU’s employees and members are participating in Community Action Team projects to benefit Feeding South Dakota, Tough Enough to Wear Pink, and the Community Reward Fund.
