ORNL FCU Gives Back to Local Zoo After Tragic Fire
January 8, 2018
We are a member-owned, not-for-profit community credit union. That means profits are paid back to you with higher savings rates and lower loan rates.
Last December, tragedy struck The Little Ponderosa Zoo located in Clinton, Tennessee. A horrible fire claimed their main barn that housed over 200 animals. The barn was lost as well as dozens of beloved creatures. The community reacted and has since poured in monetary, food, and animal supply donations.
ORNL Federal Credit Union visited the zoo to provide a $1,000 donation towards their rebuilding efforts and ongoing rescue mission. Little Ponderosa hopes to reach their goal of $200,000 in order to rebuild and clean up what was lost.
What was originally a zoo, quickly became an exotic animal rescue. Today they are home to a wild assortment of tigers, zebras, monkeys, birds, snakes, tortoises, foxes, goats, donkeys, camels, kangaroos, and more!
