Sioux Falls, SD – Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union (SFFCU) was thrilled to announce they gave their members $1 million in “Thank-Yous” by way of member dividends.

The “$1 Million in Member Thank-Yous” program includes bonus dividends for those SFFCU members who borrowed or saved in calendar year 2017. All members who stand to benefit from “$1 Million in Member Thank-Yous” received their bonus dividend on December 31, 2017.

SFFCU President/CEO Fran Sommerfeld said he sees this as a unique opportunity for a financial institution to show its members some appreciation for their dedication and loyalty. And he pointed out that it’s not something you see very frequently.

“It’s our way of saying ‘Thank You’ to our member-owners,” Sommerfeld said. “It’s your money, it’s your credit union—you deserve it. This doesn’t happen in the financial services industry very often—but our members are that important to us.”

Community members who bank with SFFCU were quick to express their gratitude for the gesture from the credit union.

“Sioux Falls Federal has always found a way to give back to its members,” SFFCU personal and business member Nathan Stallinga said, “and it’s exciting to see someone invest in our community the way that they have.”

Sommerfeld hopes this is a clear sign to Sioux Falls residents citywide that SFFCU is a financial services provider that truly cares about the people that keep it going.

“We love our members,” he said. “And what better way to say that than by showing our thankfulness in our members’ accounts? They are more than worth it.”
