Credit Union Donates $20,000 to Clipper Foundation

PORTSMOUTH - Clipper Foundation representatives Stu Levenson and Phil Pettis were on hand recently to accept a $20,000 contribution from Service Credit Union President/CEO Gordon Simmons. The Clipper Foundation is a community-wide partnership aiming to bolster public education in Grades K-12 in Portsmouth and the surrounding communities of Rye, Newington, Greenland and New Castle. Five Portsmouth High School alumni started the endowment foundation to help benefit educators and students. The permanent endowment fund is envisioned as a way to fund innovative and unique learning opportunities for Seacoast students. The $20,000 donation will go toward curriculum enrichment, experimental programming and professional development. "The organization and subsequent donation fits into Service Credit Unions mission of educating the youth in our communities," says Gordon Simmons, President/CEO of Service Credit Union. "We endeavor to make a difference by supporting education here at the credit union or with outside organizations.
