Scott Credit Union Donates $3,000 for Annual Highland Basketball Shootout

Representatives from Scott Credit Union presented a check recently for $3,000 to Highland Optimist Club representatives Kevin Hemann and Rick Ringwald for sponsorship of the annual Highland Basketball Shootout.

This is the seventh year that Scott Credit Union is the namesake sponsor of the showcase event, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Highland High School gymnasium.

The Shootout will feature seven games beginning with the Highland girls team taking on Lebanon High School at 10am. The second game will feature the Edwardsville High School boys team facing Rockhurst High from Kansas City, MO, at 11:30am. Game three will feature Carbondale facing off against Whitfield from St. Louis at 1pm.

The second session of the day will include the Highland boys team facing Columbia High School at 3pm, Belleville West High School against Poplar Bluff High at 4:45pm, and Chicago Morgan Park facing off with Chaminade at 6:30pm.

The final game of the Shootout features Champaign Central against Vashon at 8:15pm.

“We’re excited about again being the primary sponsor of the Shootout,” said Scott Credit Union President & CEO Frank Padak. “It has always been a premier event and we are happy to support it. We believe in supporting schools and the community and this gives us another chance to do that.”
