December 19, 2017
Northeast Credit Union (NECU) has joined with its community to support the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger, contributing over $7,400 to the cause. The contribution includes $5,000 from NECU, as well as funds donated by members over the past year. Since 1990, Maine credit unions have been committed to supporting Maine hunger organizations and food pantries.
"The Maine Credit Union League does incredible work organizing and maintaining the Ending Hunger program," states Tim Collia, NECU president/CEO. "At Northeast Credit Union, it is extremely important to us that we support our local community members who struggle with food insecurity, and we are thankful to be a part of this movement to fight hunger."
"The success of the Campaign comes from the cooperative spirit of strong participation," said Jon Paradise, Vice President of Public Affairs and Engagement for the Maine Credit Union League, which coordinates the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger. "We are pleased that Northeast Credit Union is making a significant contribution to the Campaign. This will make a solid impact on Mainers who otherwise might have gone hungry."
