Cornerstone CU Donates $1,000 to Family Promise of Greater Beloit

SOUTH BELOIT, IL – On December 6th, Cornerstone Credit Union (CCU) presented a donation of $1,000 to Family Promise of Greater Beloit. Family Promise was chosen as a recipient by the CCU Community Relations Committee, a group of employees who select local organizations seeking contributions that make a difference in the communities served by the credit union.
Family Promise was established to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Contributions to Family Promise of Greater Beloit provide homeless families (nearly 60% are children) with safe shelter, nutritious meals and the comprehensive support necessary for a more promising future. They work with local congregational partners to provide these needed services.
“Cornerstone learned of the Family Promise organization and their efforts to assist homeless families in the South Beloit area, “said Julie Warren, Cornerstone Community Relations Committee chair. We chose to help them with a particular Christmas mission− to provide the children of these families with Christmas gifts from their wish lists this year.”
Jennifer Moran, Family Promise board member, commented, “I am always so excited when I find others in our community who recognize our organization’s purpose and want to help our families! Cornerstone’s generous donation will allow us to provide not only Christmas gifts but other services for our families in need.”
