Naveo CU Raises $1,000 for "A Bed for Every Child" Program

Naveo Credit Union hosted Tuck, the mascot for Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless' A Bed for Every Child program, at its branches during the month of November to raise much-needed funds. Naveo raised $1,000 to benefit the program during the month, which will provide 4 beds to children in need.

Tuck, a 6-foot Vermont Teddy Bear, visited Naveo to bring awareness to A Bed for Every Child program, a campaign geared toward raising funds to provide a proper place for children to sleep and dream at night. For every $250 collected, a child in need is provided with a complete bed and mattress. Naveo's collection was earmarked to provide four beds to children in need within the Somerville and Cambridge area.

Naveo employees and members were encouraged to take selfies with Tuck for a donation. To bring additional attention to the campaign, Naveo employees staged Tuck throughout the branches, sometimes grabbing coffee or sitting at the receptionist desk. Employees were also given the opportunity to trade in their business attire for jeans in exchange for a donation to the cause on Friday, Nov. 24.

"We are happy to provide funding for much needed beds in the Cambridge and Somerville area. Robyn and her team do a great job working with community partners and reaching children in low-income families. We hope this program leads to children excelling in school and eventually excelling in life," said Rui F. Domingos, CEO of Naveo. "A Bed for Every Child has a huge impact on a child's life and we are happy to support this program however we can."
