Danbury, CT –December 1, 2017 – Sikorsky Credit Union recently joined forces with the Danbury PAL (Police Activity League) in hosting a Shred It and Electronic Recycling Day event. This event took place in the Danbury PAL parking lot on Saturday, November 4, and gave local residents an opportunity to protect their personal information by having paperwork properly destroyed. In addition to paper shredding, used electronics were collected for disposal and recycling. There was a large turnout, which also included i95 radio broadcasting from the event.
A donation was requested of participants, with proceeds supporting Danbury PAL’s community programs. A leader in community youth programs, Danbury PAL offers over a dozen sports programs for children of all ages, as well as open gym times. $2,700 was raised at this event.
“Danbury PAL would like to thank Sikorsky Credit Union, all the volunteers, and the community for coming to Shred It and Electronic Recycling Day. All the money raised will go towards keeping kids safely participating in our programs.” said Melissa Fracker, the Assistant Director of Danbury PAL who helped facitilitate the event. Added Paula Dias, Danbury Branch manager of Sikorsky Credit Union, “The community focus on protecting personal information and helping children is very important to us.
