Mountain West FCU Gives Back with Jeans Days Fundraiser

For a number of years now, Mountain West FCU staff have been quietly adding to an expense fund that they give to those in need. Employees found that they knew of more and more people with cancer or other devastating diseases, and decided they could help out a little with their expenses, and "jean week" was started. Staff pay $20 a month, and, in return, they get to wear jeans (and feel good about it) and feel even better about giving back. Staff members make the final decision about who to help, and the credit union also puts a small piggy bank in the lobby to collect for whomever or whatever charity is currently tapped as the beneficiary. While the folks at Mountain West call it "jean week," they do it all year. As Manager Leah Salazar says, "why stop giving anytime you can make a difference." And, that nicely sums up the #CUDifference.
