Alta Vista Credit Union employees recently prepared and served their second Meal of Love at the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families while their children receive medical treatment at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital and other nearby hospitals.

Credit union employees prepared a meal consisting of chicken and beef street tacos, beans, rice, potato salad and dessert and served more than 60 people.

Preparing the meal were Alta Vista employees Susie Jarvis, Amber Green, Stephanie Jordan, Shana Crane, Amber Astilleros, Kris Bussard, Jackie Gallegos, Taylor Carrol, Jacqueline Sanderson, Erica Leal and Ben Lopez, with family member Jimmy Sadler.

“We felt that the Meal of Love was a special way for us to help families that are going through such difficult times,” said Susie Jarvis, head of business development at Alta Vista Credit Union.

“Serving some of the families that are staying at the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House was something that we very much enjoyed doing, and goes along with the people-helping-people mentality of our entire credit union,” Jarvis said.

Community philanthropy is one of Alta Vista Credit Union’s priorities, along with serving its members.

Throughout the year, the credit union makes an effort to help people through volunteering and charitable donations.

Headquartered in Redlands, Alta Vista Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative opened in 1943. The credit union serves 12,800 members and offers a full line of financial products and services.
