Madison, WI – November 7, 2017 – UW Credit Union and the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) have partnered to establish a UW Credit Union branch office and ATM inside Middleton High School. The branch is slated to open in late January 2018.

“We are excited about this partnership, and the opportunity it allows to expand our ongoing commitment to financial literacy,” says UW Credit Union President & CEO Paul Kundert. “By providing students with education, tools and resources, we will be setting them on the right path for a successful financial future.”

The branch will provide convenient access to students, staff, and their families during the school day, and a surcharge-free ATM will be available for use any time the school building is open. UW Credit Union employees will provide financial education seminars to students, faculty and staff, as well as help support Middleton High School’s financial literacy curriculum.

"When we were going through the selection process, we were looking for a financial institution that was committed to promoting financial literacy for students and adults alike. We found the perfect partner in UW Credit Union,'' says Middleton-Cross Plains Area School Superintendent George Mavroulis.

Through the partnership, UW Credit Union will also offer internship opportunities to Middleton High School students, who will help manage branch operations, develop marketing campaigns, shadow employees throughout the credit union, and take an active role in promoting financial education.

“Students and staff alike are absolutely thrilled about our collaboration with UW Credit Union,” says Middleton High School Principal Steve Plank. “This partnership will help Middleton High School ensure that our students leave MHS with an even higher level of financial literacy than they do now. Partnering with UW Credit Union is yet another example of how we can truly realize authentic learning that fully engages today's students.''
This will be UW Credit Union’s first high school branch location.
