(SAN ANTONIO, TX – NOVEMBER 2, 2017)–– Security Service Charitable Foundation has presented Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives (RYMA) with a $5,000 donation that will be used to improve housing facilities for children in crisis.
RMYA creates brighter futures for children in crisis by promoting individual success and healthy relationships in a safe, healing environment, giving children and families the tools to end the cycle of abuse. As a non-profit organization, they have provided residential and counseling services to children and young adults in crisis—serving 80,000 abused, neglected and high-risk youth since 1976.
“We are so grateful to Security Service for helping children in our care,” said Renee Garvens, director of community and donor relations for Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives. “Aside from providing for their emotional and educational needs, we want to provide them with a comfortable home. Whether it’s providing a secure play area or replacing broken bedroom furniture, donations like this help to create a home and family away from home for children when they need it most.”
“Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives has provided unwavering support for the children and youth of our community,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “The children under their care are in need of so many things: compassion, guidance, education, basic living necessities—and to know we as a community are here to support them through their challenges.”
The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
