Kellogg Community CU Participates in United Way Pop Up Giving Event
October 27, 2017
Kellogg Community Credit Union (KCCU) participated in a United Way Pop Up Giving (PUG) event during their annual Team Enrichment Day on October 9th.
For the second year in a row, the KCCU Team spent the afternoon of their Team Enrichment Day volunteering at local charitable organizations, so hosting a Pop-Up Giving event fit perfectly into the day’s agenda. Three incredible organizations pitched their causes and the KCCU Team voted for Prevention Works, Inc. of Kalamazoo to receive the $1,000 KCCU donation. KCCU Team members are passionate about serving the communities in which they work and live as a way to show their commitment to their communities.
“Pop Up Giving, a program of the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region (UWBCKR), is all about people coming together and making instant impact for a great nonprofit in our community,” stated Alyssa Stewart, UWBCKR’s Director of Strategy & Engagement. “With its Pop Up Giving event, Kellogg Community Credit Union created an opportunity for three nonprofits—Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Prevention Works—to highlight the work they are doing to impact vulnerable families and children across the region. Prevention Works, an organization that provides substance use prevention, violence prevention, social emotional development, family life skills, parenting and adolescent health earned the most votes and won the generous $1,000 dollar prize furnished by KCCU. These funds will support their family programs, which foster the development of safe, healthy, fulfilled and addiction-free families.”
