NEW YORK CITY -- As part of its continued efforts to empower the youth throughout the New York area, Municipal Credit Union (MCU) joined the New York Jets in presenting a donation of $100,000 to leading national nonprofit organization STOMP Out Bullying™ during the third annual Anti-Bullying Awareness Day at MetLife Stadium on October 1st. The event, which was co-sponsored by MCU and took place on the field prior to the New York Jets game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, aimed to tackle bullying by increasing awareness and highlighting resources available to those who need assistance. MCU is the official credit union of the New York Jets.

“We’re very proud to join the New York Jets in supporting STOMP Out Bullying’s efforts to fight this epidemic affecting our young people,” said MCU Vice President of Business Development and Member Relations Corey Fernandes. “This partnership allows us to work together and make a real positive difference in the lives of youth so that they can go on with the confidence to achieve their goals.”

A pioneer on the issue, STOMP Out Bullying is dedicated to changing the culture for all students. The organization works to reduce and prevent bullying, cyber bullying, sexting and other digital abuse, educates against homophobia, LGBTQ discrimination, racism and hatred, and deters violence in schools, online and in communities across the country. In addition, STOMP Out Bullying continues to provide resources for those in need and at risk of suicide, and raises awareness through peer mentoring programs in schools, public service announcements by noted celebrities, and social media campaigns.
