Altura Credit Union Pledges $15,000 to Victims of Recent Tragedies

Altura Credit Union Donates Funds to Organizations Assisting Victims of Hurricane Harvey, the Las Vegas Shooting and Northern California Fires

(Riverside, Calif.) Oct. 24, 2017 – Altura Credit Union today announced donations totaling $15,000 assist those impacted by recent hurricanes, the Las Vegas shooting and the fires in Northern California.

Altura has donated $5,000 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey victims. The credit union donated another $5,000 to the Las Vegas Victims Fund, a GoFundMe campaign created by Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak. The final $5,000 has been contributed to the National Credit Union Foundation to assist credit union employees directly impacted by the wildfires in Northern California that have killed at least 23 people and destroyed thousands of homes.

Altura also has created portals on its website homepage, www.Alturacu.com, to make it easy for its Members, employees and the community at large to donate to the American Red Cross and Las Vegas Victims Fund. Donations to the National Credit Union Foundation can be made directly at cuaid.coop.

The images are heart wrenching. We strongly believe that helping out is what we do as Americans. In addition to pledging donations from Altura, we have made it easier for our Members to contribute as well. These funds can make a significant difference in someone’s life and we are proud to do our part to help.”
