Pacific Service Credit Union Employees Wear "Jeans for Beans"
October 10, 2017
Concord, CA October 9, 2017 - Pacific Service Credit Union (Pacific Service CU), a full-service financial institution serving several counties throughout California, is once again assisting the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano in its efforts to secure food and money in support of low-income adults, children, seniors and disabled individuals. The ‘Jeans for Beans’ campaign, which runs from October 2 through December 29, 2017, encourages employees to wear jeans any day of their choice in exchange for a $2 donation to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. For every $2 donated, the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano is able to distribute $8 of nutritious food to our neighbors in need.
Now in its sixth year, the ‘Jeans for Beans’ food drive promotion has proven to be a huge success, generating thousands of dollars in much needed funding that helps feed those in need. It is estimated that 1 in 8 people in Contra Costa and Solano counties turn to the Food Bank for emergency and supplemental food. Anyone wishing to donate may drop their nonperishable food items into the food barrels available at all Pacific Service CU branches.
Since 2001, Pacific Service Credit Union has donated over $250,000 to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. In 2017, Pacific Service Credit Union was ranked 84th in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times for corporate philanthropy.
