Pen Air FCU Donates $25,000 to CUAid Relief Fund

Pensacola, FLA. (October 5, 2017) – Pen Air Federal Credit Union has donated $25,000 to CUAid, a relief program of the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF), to help support fellow credit unions, their employees and volunteers who have been impacted by Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Irma and Tropical Storm Harvey. This gift is comprised of donations from Pen Air employees, members, and the credit union’s Communerosity funds.

The monies will go to CUAid’s General Relief Fund, which will allow the flexibility to direct dollars to wherever they are needed most on an ongoing basis. “Thanks to donations from the credit union community like Pen Air FCU’s to CUAid, thousands of credit union people in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico can start putting their lives back together,” said Christopher Morris, Director of Communications at the NCUF. “That’s the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ in action.”

CUAid is the only program of its kind that enables credit union employees, volunteers, and members, as well as credit unions and credit union organizations across the U.S., to contribute directly to support other credit union people. In 1995, the NCUF began aiding credit unions during the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing, and has since developed the CUAid program that serves to be the credit union industry’s focal point for disaster relief.
