Greater Texas Credit Union Donates to Support CUAid Relief Efforts

Austin, TX – Greater Texas Credit Union donated $5,000 to CUAid, the National Credit Union Foundation’s disaster relief system, which raises money for credit union people affected by the recent hurricanes. The check was presented to Caroline Willard, President & CEO, Cornerstone Credit Union League following a local chapter of credit unions event at which she spoke on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Greater Texas Credit Union has made it a priority to support local and national fundraising efforts of the community and those a part of the credit union movement.  “Our thoughts and prayers continue for folks affected by Hurricane Harvey, as well as those impacted by the recent flurry of hurricane activity in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico,” said Greater Texas President & CEO Howard Baker.  “It’s what we do:  people helping people.”

Through CUAid, credit union organizations are encouraged to support the Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund, the only disaster relief fund dedicated to helping credit unions, their employees and volunteers recover from major disasters such as Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Tropical Storm Harvey.
