Employees of People's Credit Union of Middletown, RI, donated their free time over a recent weekend to help clean up Rhode Island beaches with the groups Clean Ocean Access and Save the Bay.

Two teams, led by Rob Leonardi, pitched in to do the work. Eighteen employees, family members and friends cleaned out Jacob's Point in Warren, RI, and 11 pitched tidied up the Audubon Society of Rhode Island Environmental Education Center in Bristol.

"People's is committed to enhancing the communities that they serve and many of the branch locations are near Rhode Island's beautiful beaches," according to the credit union. "One of the advantages of living in the Ocean State is the beaches. These beaches are home to diverse wildlife as well as being a place where friends and family gather to enjoy the sun, sand and surf."

The clean-up efforts mark the third of four events People's participates in throughout the year. The others include initiatives affiliated with the Potters League, Autism Project Imagine and the Light the Night Walk in Providence
