Aberdeen FCU Awards $2,600 in Rising Star Competition

Aberdeen, SD - Aberdeen Federal Credit Union presented the fifth annual Rising Star Competition on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Brown County Fair. A line up of sixteen talented finalists competed for cash prizes totaling $2,600. Nearly 1,500 spectators were packed into the event to cheer on the finalists as they competed for the top five places.

The 2017 Rising Star placers are as follows:

Overall Category (Ages 14 & Up)

First place ($1,000): Taylor Bogue

Second place ($750): Dillon Swanson

Third place ($500): Shelby Reid

Youth Category (Ages 13 & Under)

First Place ($250): Ella Huettl

Second Place ($100): Kyanne Galbraith

“This year’s event was exceptional! We are proud to provide this free family friendly event for the community and to be a part of the Brown County Fair. The Rising Star Competition showcases great entertainment and some of our region’s finest talent.
