Missouri Valley Chapter credit unions collected 782 items and $110 during its “Fill The Bus” school supplies drive, benefitting Bismarck and Mandan area students.

“The Fill the Bus campaign is what credit unions strive to do for our members and community by helping those in need,” shared Heather Fleck, Missouri Valley Chapter President and Railway Credit Union VP of Operations. “We had great participation from our chapter credit unions and members. There is a growing need for assistance in our community, and we are glad to be part of this year’s campaign.”

Each Bismarck and Mandan location of Capital Credit Union, First Community Credit Union and Railway Credit Union served as a collection site for members, employees and people in the community to donate school supplies July-Aug. 22.

Understanding a successful drive would mean the collection of ample school supplies for students in need, the credit unions agreed to a friendly competition to see which credit union could collect the most supplies. This year, the title was earned by Railway Credit Union!

This was the first year Missouri Valley Chapter credit unions organized a “Fill The Bus” school supplies drive.
