Ascentra Credit Union Foundation Donates $17,000 to Charities and Organizations 

 

BETTENDORF, IOWA – The Ascentra Credit Union volunteer board of directors and senior leadership team have been busy paying it forward this summer to 36 different charities and organizations, donating $17,000 in Leadership Grants from the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation.

In 2015, the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation successfully established its Leadership Grants to stay true to Ascentra’s People-Helping-People philosophy and support giving back to the community.  Each of Ascentra’s volunteer board of directors and senior leadership team were given $1,000 to support causes that are meaningful to them.  Since then, the Leadership Grants have continued to make a positive impact and have awarded a total of $51,000.

This year, the charities and organizations that were selected include:

  • Churches United of the Quad Cities, Bettendorf
  • Churches United of the Quad Cities City Center Ministry Food Pantry, Bettendorf
  • City Center Ministry, Davenport
  • Community Action of Eastern Iowa at Dewitt, DeWitt
  • Community Congregational Church, Clinton
  • Figge Art Museum, Davenport
  • First Christian Reformed Church, Fulton

“Through these Leadership Grants, it allows our volunteer board of directors and leadership team to positively impact many deserving non-profit organizations they are passionate about,” said Ascentra Chief Marketing Officer and Foundation Committee Member, Jennifer Naeve.  “This stays true to our core values of giving back to our members and community, and what the foundation is all about.”

The Paul Lensmeyer Golf Outing is the major fundraiser for the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation and will take place on Monday, Sept. 25th at the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Course at 10 a.m.  The golf outing has raised a generous $32,693 over the past two years to benefit the foundation.  For more information about the mission of the foundation visit ascentra.org/foundation
