DCU Team Stuffed Backpacks for Boys & Girls Club Members
August 16, 2017
Members of DCU's Facilities Department last week stuffed backpacks with all the essentials for back to school - pens, pencils, notebooks and much more - for 15 members of the Metrowest Boys and Girls Club in Marlborough, Mass., who will be entering grades 2-10.
Team members formed a U-shaped assembly line to put together the packs that will be distributed well before the first day of school on Aug. 30. They also expressed well wishes in handwritten notes attached to the handles of each bag.
The backpack stuffing was just another opportunity for DCU to show it truly cares about the people in the communities it serves. "We're always trying to find ways to give back," said DCU Foundation Coordinator Laura Galeski. "It was an opportunity where our entire team could bond together and do something to help out children in our community. The Boys and Girls Club of Metrowest is an organization that is near and dear to our hearts at DCU - we work with them throughout the year and also financially support their efforts through DCU for Kids.
