Bear Paw CU held a Youth Appreciation Day in Havre, MT. Families flocked to Pepin Park to enjoy hotdogs and soda, partake in a variety of activities, and open youth savings accounts. Bear Paw CU organized the event as a way to celebrate summer and encourage kids to start saving early. The whole community gets involved, and area kids get to have a ton of fun while learning a little, too. And Bear Paw's commitment doesn't stop there. Throughout August, Bear Paw is waiving its $5 membership fee for anyone under 17 who wants to open a savings account at the credit union. How often do financial institutions organize a community-wide event for kids and, then, pay people to start saving? Well, Bear Paw CU has done it every year now for more than a decade. It's one more example of the #CUDifference.
