Credit union bowling fundraiser raises over $12,000 for children in need

Pictured is IMCUs CEO, Ron Collier, with Indiana Fever Mascot, Freddy, at IMCUs 5th annual "Bowl-A-Thon" at Expo Bowl in Indianapolis.� Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), Central Indianas largest credit union, hosted their 5th annual "Bowl-A-Thon" employee fundraising event, at Expo Bowl in Indianapolis, located at 5261 Elmwood Avenue, on Sunday, February 17, 2013.� 400 bowlers attended the event, filling two flights of 80 lanes.� The event raised over $12,000 for the Indiana Members Foundation, to help children in need in the communities IMCU serves. Features of the day included a special appearance by Indiana Fever Mascot, Freddy, and over 90 door prizes.� Each bowler that participated received two games and shoes.� In addition, a team prize for "Best Decorated T-Shirt" was awarded! The Indiana Members Foundation was founded in 2010 by Indiana Members Credit Union employees and volunteers for the purpose of being a positive influence in the community, specifically providing school children in the Indianapolis area with the necessary essentials for learning and succeeding in their education.� "Due to the generosity from our employees, their friends and families, we were able to raise over $12,000 for our Bowl-A-Thon this year, which is awesome," stated Mandy Emery, AVP Community Relations for IMCU.� Emery, who also oversees Indiana Members Foundation fundraising events expressed, "Our 2013 fundraising goal for Indiana Members Foundation is to raise enough funds to provide 4,000 backpacks, filled with supplies, and 500 school uniforms, belts and shoes to school children in the Indianapolis area, and we are well on our way to hitting that goal." Ron Collier, CEO of IMCU, stated, "Its heartwarming to see our organization come together for this cause.� Children in our communities are in great need of basic school supplies and IMCU employees share the passion and know the importance of giving back to the communities we serve and look forward to this event every year.� I am delighted that we are able to assist in fulfilling this need through our foundation."
