Greater Texas Credit Union Hosted School Supply Drive for Mission Arlington
Arlington, TX – Greater Texas Credit Union Arlington branch staff hosted a school supply drive from July 17 through August 4, 2017, to support Mission Arlington by providing local students with basic supplies needed when starting school. Mission Arlington®/Mission Metroplex® helped over 9,000 students with school supplies in 2016.
Greater Texas has supported Mission Arlington for over 10 years with various projects (equipment and furniture donations, monetary donations, Easter Egg Drive, food drives and Christmas toy drives) and has supported the School Supply Drive for approximately 5 years.
Reagan Martin, Greater Texas Credit Union Regional Branch Manager, said “we support Mission Arlington because they are an amazing organization which truly helps the less fortunate in Arlington. They utilize hundreds of volunteers and offer a multitude of services to assist people with their physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs.”
Mission Arlington® began in August of 1986, and was created to build bridges, not barriers. “Our heart is to be here whenever it is possible to meet a need. We want each person, and every family, to receive authentic help when they need it most. We want to treat people with the same passion with which we would want someone else to respond to our own moment of need, or the needs of those we love most.” As of 2016, their administrative costs were 2.95 percent, which translates to a little more than 97 cents of each dollar going directly to people in need.
