Sioux Falls, SD - Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of its sixth branch, South Louise Branch, with a week-long celebration beginning on Monday, July 17 and concluding on Friday, July 21. Outside of the daily events, Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union also collected food and monetary donations for Feeding South Dakota throughout the week.

On Friday, July 21, the members and community were invited to participate in our Dunk a CEO challenge. Contributors could throw different size balls at their CEO and special guest of choice for a monetary donation. Our CEOs were:  Fran Sommerfeld, President/CEO of Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union; Matt Gassen, CEO of Feeding South Dakota; Eric Sivertson, CEO/Partner of Epicosity; Kamie Roesler, KSFY News Anchor; and Vanessa Gomez, KSFY News Reporter.

“We are so incredibly grateful and blessed to work with such amazing community partners such as Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union. The money raised through their celebration events will be able to provide 24,000 meals to our Sioux Falls neighbors in need,” stated Matt Gassen, CEO of Feeding South Dakota.

“Feeding South Dakota fullfills an important need within our community and we are happy to help bridge the gap,” stated Fran Sommerfeld. “We would like to thank our business partners who also contributed $1,000 to our fundraising events:  Epicosity, Journey Construction and Perspective.”

Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and currently serves anyone who lives or works in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties of South Dakota. The not-for-profit cooperative has over 27,000 members with six Sioux Falls locations.
