United FCU Helps Raise Funds for Catholic Community Center

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) was pleased to serve as gold-level sponsor of the 2017 Knights of Columbus Memorial Golf Tournament that raised more than $2,200 for the Catholic Community Center in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The golf outing on June 10 at Blossom Trails Golf Club attracted more than 70 participants.
The Center, located at 346 Catalpa, is a ministry of the Diocese of Kalamazoo. It provides assistance with utility bills, food, medicines, transportation and personal care items. The Center also offers educational opportunities, such as budgeting assistance, computer tutoring and employment coaching.
“We are grateful for the donation given by the credit union and Knights of Columbus. The funds will be used to provide baskets filled with fresh vegetables, meat, fruits, beverage and treats at Thanksgiving,” said Sister Maureen McGrath, OP. “We provided baskets last year and the recipients were so grateful. It will be a joy to do again this year.”
“As a result of our partnership with United Federal Credit Union these past three years, we have selected them as our preferred financial institution,” said Knights of Columbus Council 1120 Grand Knight Joe Campbell. “It’s been a winning partnership for the credit union, Catholic Community Center, Knights of Columbus and, most important, the Benton Harbor community.”
