NAPERVILLE – July 18, 2017–DuPage Credit Union would like to thank everyone who participated in its recent Drive, Drop & Donate event. During the fundraiser, the Credit Union raised over $3,500 which will be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies for DuPage County students in need. The backpacks and supplies will be handed out during the DuPage Regional Office of Education’s Annual Back-to-School Fair on August 2nd at St. Francis High School in Wheaton.
“We’re thrilled with the results and the opportunity to help so many children through our We’ve Got Your Back backpack fundraising campaign,” said Amy Brandt, Vice President of Business Solutions at DuPage Credit Union. “One hundred percent of the money raised helps these students start the school year with the supplies essential to help succeed in the classroom.
“As well as helping local students, our Drive, Drop & Donate event collected enough recyclables to save 79 trees, 32,581 gallons of water and 23 cubic yards of landfill space. Overall it was a great day!”
To date, the Credit Union has surpassed its goal of $10,000 and has raised $10,774 to purchase supplies and backpacks; and will continue to take donations through August 1st.
