Diamond CU Members Donate $2,500 to Local Charities
July 11, 2017
From April 1, 2017 through June 17, 2017, Diamond Credit Union asked members to refer friends and family members with the incentive of earning donations for six local charitable organizations. Both the referring member and the new member choose one organization each to receive $10 after the new checking account was opened. At the end of the promotion, members had raised over $2,500 for six local organizations.
The participating charitable organizations were The American Cancer Society Relay For Life (Berks and Pottstown), the Greater Berks Food Bank, HeartSAFE Berks County, KenCrest EmployNET (Disability Support Services based in Pottstown), Olivet Boys and Girls Club, and the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. The organization chosen most often was the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. They received a $1,100 donation on behalf of the members of Diamond Credit Union, while the remaining organizations also benefited from difference-making donations.
“We had so much fun with this promotion. We choose organizations to support that make an impact in our local serving area and we loved hearing the stories of why members chose to support a specific organization. The only thing better was seeing the excited faces when we dropped off the donation checks,” stated John Faust, President/CEO of Diamond Credit Union.
Encouraging smart financial choices and helping local charitable organizations…That’s younity.
