Sikorsky Credit Union Donated 300 Backpacks for Summer Camp Program

Stratford, CT – June 22, 2017 – Recently, Danielle Walton, Branch Manager of the Stratford office of Sikorsky Credit Union presented 300 backpacks to Christopher Carroll, Director of Development at Sterling House Community Center. The backpacks will be used for the Sterling House summer day camp program. The Credit Union has donated over a thousand backpacks to the community center in past four years.
Over the past year, Sikorsky Credit Union has also supported other Sterling House activities, including sponsoring a Sterling House youth basketball team and providing gifts for children in need during the holiday season. Amanda Meeson, Executive Director of Sterling House was very grateful for this donation; "We're very thankful to Sikorsky Credit Union for its generous donation of 300 string backpacks that will go to all of our summer day campers. They are very useful during the regular camp day, and especially when campers go on day trips off-site." Sikorsky Credit Union employee Danielle Walton added, “We always get great feedback on how much the kids like our backpacks. And, those backpacks will still come in handy when summer’s over for many activities during the school year.”
