KALAMAZOO, MI – Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity builds, rehabilitates, and repairs homes in Kalamazoo County, the cities of Otsego and Plainwell, and Gun Plain and Otsego townships. On Thursday, June 15th Arbor Financial Caring Committee members and staff presented Charlie Robertson, the Executive Director of Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity, Ann Kilkuskie the Director of Community Relations and Global Village Trip Team Leader, and Monica Priest, Director of Development with a check for $750. In addition to the monetary donation, members of Arbor Financial’s Caring Committee put hammer to nail as they helped to build a home for a family in need.
“Thank you for sharing and supporting our vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live,” says Kilkuskie. “This donation will help us further our mission of providing affordable housing.” The Caring Committee is made up of Arbor Financial employee volunteers who select, organize and execute philanthropic initiatives in our communities. In support of the Caring Committees donations, staff was able to raise $750 in funds through Arbor Financial’s “Pay to Wear Jeans” Day. “I had such a great time helping build that house! I can’t wait to get involved with more things in our lovely community” said Justice Blasengame, Arbor Financial Portage Branch Teller.
