This week Missoula FCU held its annual meeting and announced the results of this year's Giving Together program. Starting on June 6, credit union members could watch videos from seven local nonprofits and select the three who would share $50,000 of grants. And, members got engaged -- boy, did they get engaged! There was two full weeks of buzz on social media, and the videos were viewed over 18,000 times, generating a lot of exposure for of the participating nonprofits. The final tally showed that over 13,000 Missoula FCU members participated. Zootown Arts Community Center ended up the big winner, and Opportunity Resources, Inc edged out Garden City Harvest to take second place by only 35 votes. They received $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000 respectively. "Giving Together" is a wonderful example of the #CUdifference -- working to strengthen organizations that do much-needed work in the community while activating member support as well.
