Herndon, Va. (June 14, 2017) – Duane Daski of Northwest Federal Credit Union’s Maitland, FL office recently presented the 2017 NWFCU Excellence in Education award at the Florida Literacy Coalition’s 33rd annual conference. The award went to DePorres Place, an organization celebrating 20 years of service in Palm Beach County offering basic language curricula, citizenship classes, help with drivers’ license testing, and more recently, projects focusing on promoting health and financial literacy.

The Florida Literacy Coalition is one of Northwest Federal’s Florida Community Partners; they advocate for and deliver quality adult and family literacy services throughout the state by working with more than 300 adult education, literacy and family literacy providers.

“Our partnership with the Florida Literacy Coalition gives us the opportunity to recognize organizations that work tirelessly to educate and advocate for those in need of literacy services in Florida,” said Daski. “I was honored to present the NWFCU Excellence in Education award for the second year in a row and look forward to continuing to support this valued partner in the future.”
