BISMARCK, ND (June 13, 2017) – Capital Credit Union recently received the Bismarck-Mandan Top 10 Young Professional Workplaces Award from the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network (YPN). This is the tenth time Capital Credit Union has received the award since its inception in 2007. The award recognizes area businesses and organizations that provide development opportunities for young professionals, comprehensive benefit packages and opportunities for community service.

“It’s businesses like yours that make our community great,” stated Shae Helling, YP Ambassador Team Co-lead. “Without the opportunities you provide, it wouldn’t be possible to keep our great young professionals at home and bring in top young talent from the outside. Most importantly, you give them the ability to grow and advance with the organization and the community.”

Helling shared some of the highlights from Capital Credit Union’s submission that made the organization stand out, including ongoing education and training opportunities, internal leadership program and rewards for community volunteerism.

“We strive to make our employees know they are valued, because they are,” shares Vice President of Human Resources, Nicole Mikkelsen. “In addition to offering professional development opportunities and a competitive benefits package, we also emphasize the importance of our employees having a work-life balance. We believe this balance is critical to keep them happy and engaged in all aspects of their lives, not just when they’re at work.”

In January of this year, Capital Credit Union was presented with the Best Place to Work Award from the North Dakota Young Professionals Network, the statewide organization for young professionals. Similarly, this award recognized the credit union’s support of professional development and commitment to giving back to the community.
