Georgia United CU to Improve Local School

Decatur, GA - Georgia United Credit Union invites you to get involved in their 4th annual School Crashers school improvement project at Canby Lane Elementary School this summer. Canby Lane Elementary School, built in 1967, is located at 4150 Green Hawk Trail in Decatur and has 740 students and 80 faculty and staff. The “crash” will take place July 21st – 22nd, so the project can be completed in time for the new school year in August.
Join Georgia United in working alongside school and community volunteers to provide improvement projects like building and grounds renovations to enhance the learning environment for Canby Lane’s students and faculty and staff.
How to get involved:
- Volunteer: Anyone who is interested is encouraged to volunteer, regardless of your skill level as we will need a lot of volunteers to work around the building and ground. If you have painting, landscaping or construction skills, please sign up to help– we need skilled crew leaders! Due to the scope of projects, young children are not encouraged to attend. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- In-kind donations: We will need supplies like paint, equipment and landscaping plants. If you’d like to donate food or water for our volunteers – we would appreciate that as well.
- Corporate donations: We need your support to fund extra school improvements including benches, landscaping supplies, etc.
If you or your community group would like to volunteer or supply materials for Georgia United’s School Crashers event for all or part of either day – Friday, July 21st and Saturday, July 22nd, simply complete the volunteer application or donor form at gucu.org/schoolcrashers.
