Family members, teachers and school administrators came together Friday for a celebratory luncheon at the Holiday Inn in Marlborough, where they recognized the winner and seven finalists of the 27th Annual Massachusetts Student Essay Contest.

The contest is coordinated each year by the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) and implemented through the Massachusetts chapters.

CCUA President/CEO Paul Gentile led off the ceremony by congratulating the seventh- and eighth-grade students and in his remarks, underscored the ongoing commitment of credit union to financial education. The students took turns reading their essays, written in response to the question, "Save, spend, share, and learn, what could you teach an adult to form better savings and spending habits?"
