(Riverside, Calif.)  May 31, 2017 – The 5th Annual Riverside Tamale Festival held recently offered local residents a unique cultural experience by showcasing the city’s rich Latino heritage. An estimated 20,000 people took part in this year’s festival, which Altura Credit Union supported as a title sponsor.

The Riverside Tamale Festival is the signature event of the Spanish Town Heritage Foundation, which is raising funds to restore the Trujillo Adobe. Built in 1842, the adobe is a designated Riverside landmark and California site of historical significance.

The festival attracts visitors from all over Southern California and features over 50 vendors, a beer garden, a lineup of entertainment and the signature contests for best vendor tamale, best homemade tamale and a tamale-eating round.

Altura became a title sponsor of the event in 2016 and committed to that role for three years.
