May 25, 2017
Bismarck, N.D. (May 19, 2017) - Capital Credit Union has donated $750 to the Bismarck Optimist Club for their annual Avenue of Flags effort. In their fifth year of this project, the club has lined up American flags on State Street from I-94 to the south entrance of the state capitol building. They display 120 flags along the street on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. The flags are erected in the early morning and removed in the evening the same day each time. The club has about 75 members, about 20 of whom are able to help at any of those given days the flags are displayed. Capital Credit Union’s donation will help the club support local youth, with the club’s motto being, “Friend of Youth,” in addition to non-profits and community projects, and to assist with material and maintenance of the Avenue of Flags project.
