Crescent CU Helps Raise $65K for School on Wheels

"Outrunning Homelessness," an event sponsored by Crescent Credit Union in Brockton, Massachusetts, exceeded its fundraising goal, bringing in more than $65,000 for educational non-profit "School on Wheels" of Massachusetts. More than 400 runners and walkers joined 100 volunteers for the 5K 2.6-mile race and family walk at Borderland State Park in Easton.
This was the sixth consecutive year Crescent sponsored the event. NECN news anchor Brian Shactman got the crowd fired up and then ran the race with his family.
School on Wheels provides customized backpacks to 2,400 students throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, tutors and mentors more than 300 students, assists 34 college students at 10 New England colleges and this spring, will watch high school and college students in the program throw their graduation caps skyward!
