Members Plus Credit Union Awards $5,000 in Scholarships

Members Plus Credit Union in Medford, Massachusetts, recently named the winners of five $1,000 scholarships. The scholarships, including two named in honor of former long-term board members, Joseph A. McCarthy and Martin J. Nee, were open to students accepted or enrolled in a full-time, accredited, two- or four-year school of higher learning, and either credit union members or dependents of members.
The five winners were randomly chosen from more than 200 entries. The lucky recipients include Ebony Milton of Milton, John Carter from Middleton, Casey Gaffney from Dorchester, Connor Mullen from Billerica, and Tyrone Thornton from Boston.
"It's a great call to make to these families when a student is chosen as the recipient of one of these scholarships. This has become an annual tradition and one that we plan to continue for many years," said John Murphy, president/CEO.
