(Somerville, MA) Naveo Credit Union’s Scholarship Committee awarded four scholarships of $1,000 each to local students during their Annual Meeting. Scholarship recipients for the 2017-2018 school year were Emeline Antunes of Medford, Lyndsy Cadet of Everett, Erika Furtado of Peabody, and Anna Griffin of Cambridge. Scholarship recipients are anonymously selected based on financial need, scholastic merit as well as community and school involvement.

“At Naveo Credit Union, we believe in the future academic success of our young members.  In order to assist with the rising costs of education, Naveo has been proudly supporting our young members through The Carlos Faria and Victor Da Silva Memorial Scholarship program for the last 30 years. We continue to be impressed by the academic dedication, community involvement and individual goals of our scholarship applicants. We would like to thank all applicants, congratulate the winners and wish everyone the very best on their academic road ahead,” commented Paul Ferreira, Scholarship Committee Chair.

Named after former board members for their dedication to education, the Carlos Faria and Victor Da Silva Memorial Scholarship Fund has been a part of the Credit Union since the 1980’s.
